I have now practiced as a therapist for over 25 years, and every year the work just seems richer and more fascinating! The event that led me to this vocation was a “non-dual” or “unitive” experience in 1991 when I was working as an architect. This event, which essentially changed the entire trajectory of my life, led me to spend time in India at an ashram, work with two quantum physicists/philosophers, research anomalous experience, and ultimately earn my PhD at the Institute of Imaginal Studies (now known as Meridian University). There, I was deeply influenced by the school's founder, Aftab Omer, Ph.D., who in 2005 took several students to visit and learn from the ancient mystery schools in Greece.

Recently, I earned a certificate in psychedelic-assisted therapy through the California Institute of Integral Studies, taught in part by MAPS-accredited therapists. This rich training re-opened me to the important gifts of accessing non-ordinary states of consciousness, whether by breathwork, meditation, transcendent sound or integrating the learnings from sacred medicines. I have received many insights and understandings from all of these experiences and long to share them with others as we all go through this era of whole-systems change as well as consciousness expansion.

I feel that creating a contemporary mystery school is the next step on my path, and I welcome you to join me on that journey! We all have so many possibilities for transformation in our lives… which ones are you going to choose? Or as Mary Oliver so beautifully framed the question: “Tell me what is it that you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

My path has moved through chemistry, engineering, systems analysis, consciousness exploration and human transformation work. I developed a holistic view of complex systems, especially after an event on the way to a biochemistry final exam, when I had a vision of all the simultaneous reaction pathways in the body forming a cohesive system.

Throughout my scientific career, I maintained a deep interest in the relationship between mind, body and consciousness. Beginning in the 1970s, I have explored brainwave biofeedback and the ways in which human awareness can be measured, influenced and expanded. Alongside my engineering work, I remained deeply engaged with the alternative cultural movements that emerged from the anti-war and transformational currents of the late 1960s.

Over time, my interests increasingly converged at the intersection of chemistry, physics, consciousness and human potential. More recently, meditation, breathwork and sacred plant medicines have become important avenues for exploring non-ordinary states of awareness and gaining insight into the broader nature of reality. I am certified as a sitter for psychedelic-assisted therapy and have supported others in navigating transformative states of consciousness.

I believe we are living in a time that calls for an expansion of human awareness and a deeper sense of interconnectedness.
